Walking can help with your general health, improve your fitness, help you to ‘de-stress’: an activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The following Groups offer a programme of Health and Feel Good Walks in Newark and Sherwood District.

The Sherwood Foragers
This Group of walkers covers the area around Ollerton. The Group meets every Wednesday at 1:30pm at various locations. Details and other information can be obtained from Daphne Bowler on 01623 860096

Southwell Walkers
(Formerly the Southwell Strollers and Workhouse Walkers)
Our walks are free, fun and friendly – perfect to help you get active and meet new people. If you’d like to take part, all you have to do is come along to the start point where one of our trained walk leaders can take your details. Then you’re free to take part in as many walks as you like, as often as you like. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 10.00 am at Southwell Methodist Church car park NG25 0JH and the last Friday of the month at 10.45 am at the car park of the National Trust’s Workhouse, Upton Road, Southwell, Notts. NG25 0PT.

If you want to learn more before you start, just get in touch with Stephen Dando (01636 815363) for the Wednesday walks or Marie Legg (01636 812318) for the Friday walks.
